With the UK finally getting to grips on Covid-19, the Prime Minister pledged to start an inquiry into how the Government handled the crisis within the current session of Parliament.

Dozens of ministers, scientists and officials will be interviewed under oath, explaining exactly how the Government came to make its decisions over the 15 months.

The probe is likely to be wide-ranging, covering the delays to lockdown, the UK’s high death toll, and a shortage of personal protective equipment.

Britain’s success of the vaccine rollout, which has seen over 35 million people get a coronavirus injection within the last six months, will also be looked at.
