Arthur Laura Dodsworth has warned people are “obsessing” over Boris Johnson and Number 10’s hosting of numerous lockdown-breaching parties. Ms Dodsworth called for more attention to be given to the impact of lockdowns, which she branded “insane middle-class luxury”, on the lives of everyday Britons.

Ms Dodsworth told TalkRADIO: “So next thought should be what else is happening right now, which is totally unfair so that we can jump off this carousel.

“Let’s not be doing this again and another six months or a year, and that’s going to be vaccine mandates.

“So all the journalists baying for blood over ‘party gate’, yes, it was wrong let’s let that chunter on in the background.

“But what else is going on right now that’s unfair.”

She continued: “So for journalists who obsessing over this Scotch egg of a story, are they talking about all the actual blood that was spilt because of lockdowns because literally millions of people have been hungry have starved because of lockdown.

Host Mike Graham added: “Didn’t have birthday parties didn’t have weddings, funerals, didn’t see people because they weren’t allowed to quite simply.

Ms Dodsworth replied: “There was suffering in this country but you know more than that, in the Global South, millions of people went hungry.

“So if you’re a street vendor social distancing doesn’t work tour business is based on proximity.”

She added: “If you are a farmer in the Global South, you have to drive your goods to markets or again they go to waste and you starve.

“Lockdown was always the most insane, middle-class luxury imaginable.

“So millions of people have truly truly suffered.

“But our sights are just focused on a birthday party and some birthday cake. I mean this is very much let them have cake-type story, can we talk about what else has happened? What’s really wrong?”

It comes as Prime Minister fights to hold onto the keys of Number 10 amid continued uproar over lockdown breaching parties at Downing Street.

Mr Johnson apologised last Wednesday for attending a “bring your own booze” party in the Downing Street garden in May 2020, when the rest of the country was in lockdown, sparking furious calls for him to resign.

So far seven MPs have publicly confirmed they have submitted letters of no confidence in Boris Johnson, a total of 54 letters are needed to trigger a confidence vote.

However, only Sir Graham Brady, chair of the backbench Conservative 1922 Committee knows the exact number of submitted letters.
