Deputy Prime Minister Dominic Raab has sent SNP MPs into a fit of rage with a slapdown over fuel poverty in Scotland. SNP Deputy Westminster leader Kirsten Oswald has argued the Conservative Government funding cuts had worsened fuel poverty north of the body with poorer people facing a choice between heating their homes or feeding their children. But Mr Raab challenged Ms Oswald head-on over where the powers to tackle the problem lay.
Mr Raab told the SNP’s deputy leader at Westminster: “Maybe those issues are devolved to Scotland.
The reply sparked jeers from the Conservative benches much to the anger of SNP MPs.
Mr Raab continued: “The energy price gap will save 15 million households up to £100 a year.
“We are also tacking targetted measures to expand the warm homes discount.”
