BBC Weather forecaster Carol Kirkwood said the UK will experience many showers across the country. She noted for some areas like south England and southern Scotland, these showers will be slow-moving and heavy. She added the Met Office had issued a warning for the heavy downpours due to the risk of flooding.
Ms Kirkwood said: “We had some torrential downpours over the weekend which lead to some flooding for some of us.
“As we go through the week you’ll see there will be fewer showers and it is also going to turn a little bit warmer.
“What we have got on Monday is low pressure driving our weather but it is weakening all the time.
“We have also got some weather fronts bringing rain and brisk winds across southern areas.

“It has also hit southern England and this will continue to drift eastwards as we go through the course of the morning.”
The BBC Weather forecaster noted that the day will start grey for many.
Once the cloud clears she warned that many places across the UK will see more rain.

Ms Kirkwood replied: “We could see an organised line of rain from Somerset to London in the afternoon that could be heavy and thundery.
