A body has been found in a woodland amid the search for a missing 16-year-old boy who disappeared from a Kent village.
Lucas Webb, 16, disappeared on Saturday December 12 after 1.30pm, sparking concern for his safety.
Kent Police descended on the village of Barham, Kent, near Canterbury shortly after and joined scored of villagers in a search for the teen.
On December 13, a day after the search began, officers confirmed a body was located and pronounced dead, KentLive reports.
It is unclear how the teen died but the force said the death is not being treated as suspicious at this stage.
Formal identification is yet to take place, the force said, but the family of the teen who reported the boy missing have been informed.
A spokesman for Kent Police said: "Kent Police attended woodland near Barham at 11.30am on Sunday 13 December 2020, where the body of a boy was located. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
"Formal identification has not yet taken place, however, the family of a 16-year-old boy who was reported missing on Saturday 12 December have been informed."
The force added: "The death is not being treated as suspicious and a report is being prepared for the coroner."
