A young teenage boy allegedly shot his parents dead, as well as his younger brother, after they banned him from using the internet.
Police have arrested a 15-year-old boy on the Costa Blanca on suspicion of shooting his mum, dad, and 10-year-old sibling.
The alleged attack is reported to have happened because the child's parents banned him from using the internet for bad marks he received at school.
It's said the boy lived with the corpses of the family for three days before allegedly confessing to the crime.
He is accused of using a hunting rifle to kill his mother and brother, before later shooting dead his father when he arrived home.
Police sources have said they think the attack may have been sparked after his parents barred his internet access because of poor grades at school and not helping out with chores.
A local source said that he reportedly confessed his crimes to a neighbour who had enquired about his parents and brother, allegedly telling them: "I killed them a few days ago."
Spain's national police, which is investigating, has yet to make an official statement on the matter.
However, sources have been reported as saying that the boy shot his father in the chest when he arrived home and discovered what had happened because "he wouldn't shut up".
One even described the scene that officers found at the property in the hamlet south of Alicante as "dantesque" in a reference to the grisly scenes the Italian poet described in the poem "Inferno".
The property is currently cordoned off by police to allow forensic officers to complete their investigation.
Another source said that the bodies of the family were discovered by two aunts hidden in the shed after they called around to investigate what had happened.
