The Colorado Department of Transportation asks motorists to be aware of road closures on Interstate 70 in the Denver area this weekend.
Lane closures on I-70 are between Interstate 225 and Chambers Road from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday, Oct. 11. The Peoria Street on-ramp to eastbound I-70 and the eastbound I-70 off-ramp to Chambers Road will also be closed during this time.
Motorists, CDOT said in a news release, will exit at the westbound Chambers Road off-ramp and then get back on I-70 through the westbound I-70 on-ramp. Those traveling eastbound will exit at Airport Boulevard and head north, then go west on I-70, and exit at Chambers Road. Peoria street motorist will head north on Peoria Street, then go west on I-70, exit at Havana Street, head south on Havana Street, then go east on I-70.
CDOT warns that delays in this area should be expected. The road closures are a part of the nearly $1.3 billion Central 70 Project.
