College evacuated after ‘shots fired’ and two injured as people told stay away

A man has been detained following reports of "shots being fired" near Crawley College in West Sussex.

Two people suffered injuries but they are not believed to be serious.

Sussex Police tweet: "One man has been detained following reports of shots being fired near Crawley College.

"Please stay away from the area at this time. There is a large police presence at scene and in the local area.

"We will provide more information as soon as we are able."

Staff and pupils have been evacuated.
