The heartbroken grandad of the two sets of twins who perished in a house fire in Sutton, South London yesterday evening has paid tribute to the four "smart and beautiful" boys.
Writing on Facebook, the boys’ grandfather Jason Hoath said:” "I am devastated to say that the horrendous house fire that took place in Sutton last night leading to four children losing their lives were my amazing, smart and beautiful grandsons.
"Kyson and Bryson, aged four, and Leyton and Logan, aged three, were taken too soon they will always be in our hearts and thoughts”.
Firefighters were reportedly “numb with sadness” after giving the children emergency care at the terraced house in Collingwood Road, Sutton, on Thursday evening.
Richard Mills, deputy commissioner of the London Fire Brigade, said only the children were inside the building when firefighters arrived.
“Entering a building and rescuing life is always a very difficult place to be,” he told The Times. “The age of the children, the fact they are so young, will have a profound impact on them.”
"The cause of the fire is currently unknown,” he told reporters, ‘and we have fire investigation teams on scene at present along with the Metropolitan Police to determine the cause of the fire."

Early reports suggest that Christmas lights strung around the PVC-covered front door may have been responsible for the initial spark.
A 27-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of child neglect after the fire
One neighbour told The Sun that the boys’ mother Deveca lived alone with the children and worked as a carer with the NHS.
A GoFundMe page aimed at supporting the family has raised more than £2,500.
The boys’ 17-year-old neighbour Jessica, who set up the page, wrote: I didn’t know these lovely boys but they went to the same school as my little sister and I’ve only heard lovely things about them all .
“They where known as the ‘quads’ as they all looked the same . I’m so disheartened by this and I just want to help as much as I possibly can and I think I’m not the only one too !
