Driver who smashed up Lamborghini after crash five times drink-drive limit

A yellow Lamborghini was smashed into pieces by a driver "five times the drink-drive limit", police say.

The luxury supercar was left in a far worse state than the Alfa Romeo Guilietta which allegedly smashed into it on the road in Waltham, Lincolnshire.

Police responding to the crash which caused major delays for rush hour traffic, said the motorist behind the wheel of the black hatchback, exceeded the alcohol limit by some distance.

GrimsbyLive reports emergency services were called to the scene on Monday evening where the Lamborghini had completely lost its rear right wheel.

Humberside Police have posted on Facebook: "Reports of an RTC, patrols attended and saw this lovely Lamborghini wiped out by a suspected drink driver who blew nearly FIVE times the drink-drive limit.

"Luckily nobody has sustained serious injuries."

Debris from the Lamborghini could be seen at the side of the road in the aftermath of the collision, which caused delays during the evening rush hour.

It was quickly removed from the scene but the Alfa Romeo remained there as the area was cleared.

Elsewhere in Hull on Monday, a man appeared in court after attacking police officers over a traffic jam caused by a fatal crash.
