Drunk woman riding a suitcase leads police on low-speed chase through airport

A woman refused on her flight due to allegedly being drunk led police on a low-speed chase through the airport while riding her motorised suitcase.

In the police bodycam footage, recorded at Orlando International Airport in Florida last April, the frustrated woman is sitting on her suitcase and tells officers she just wants to go home.

She says: "I don’t want no beef. I’m just trying to go home and enjoy myself. I’ve been here for hours."

Orlando Police Officer Andrew Mamone says something about "bad weather" and then responds to her complaint about waiting for a long time with: "Yeah it happens."

In another snippet, the police officer is trying to lead her away from the area by challenging her to a race.

He says: "Can you roll with me to the main terminal? Let’s just roll our little wheels to the other side of TSA ok, because this is a secure area.

"I got to have you on the other side of TSA then I promise you I’ll leave you alone."

The footage cuts to the woman looking angry and shouting: "F*** you, suck my d***."

She then wheels away on top of her suitcase, with Officer Mamone in pursuit.

He says: "Oh man, that thing kind of goes fast, think I’m faster but…"

It turned out Officer Mamone was not fast enough and he had to call for backup.

"We’re going to have a bike pursuing a suitcase in a minute," he says on the police radio. "It’s going to be crazy."

Chelsea Alston, 32, the woman in the footage, was arrested for allegedly refusing to comply and spitting in the officer’s direction, WKMG-TV reported.

She pleaded not guilty to charges of battering a police officer and causing more than $1,000 (£738) damage to his patrol car.
