A man was shot dead in Englewood on Monday night, and a suspect is in custody, police said.
At about 10:20 p.m. on Independence Day, officers responded to a home in the 3600 block of South Sherman Street, police said in a news release.
Officers found a 21-year-old victim inside the residence. He was taken to a local hospital where he died, police said. A suspect, Cordia Blash, 37, was contacted on scene and taken into custody.
Blash is being held at the Arapahoe County Jail on investigation of first-degree murder, among other possible charges, police said.
The victim will be identified by the Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office.
