Girl, 7, saves pal from savage dog attack ‘by channelling Arnold Schwarzenegger’

A schoolgirl who saved her best friend from being mauled alive by a husky said she was just copying her hero Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Brave Taylor Udall, 7, pulled an out-of-control mutt off of pal Teddy Tyrell after it latched onto his head and tore at his skin.

Despite suffering wounds to his face and needing surgery the lad has made a full recovery.

The savage attack took place on yards from Teddy’s home in Dovercourt in Essex where a stranger tasked the youngsters if they wanted to pet the dangerous hound.

Within seconds it launched into a ravaging rampage but brave Taylor jumped in to save Teddy’s life.

She channeled the strength of the Terminator himself, whose work out videos she watches with her dad.

Teddy’s family has thanked the selfless “barbie doll” after she stepped in to save the day.

Taylor said: “I pulled the dog off him – it was like a tiger.

"I wasn't scared I felt like Arnold Schwarzenegger.

"He's my hero because he's strong like my daddy and he fought predator."

After enduring surgery on his face and hand Teddy is back at school and the tight-knit pair are still having sleepovers.

Teddy's mum Natalie McMillan praised quick-thinking Taylor in the wake of the "heart breaking" attack.

The 33-year-old carer said: "Thankfully he is doing well, they did such a good job on his face in hospital. There are only tiny scars now.

  • Mum who thought ex was cheating smashed up wrong woman's £29k car in jealous rage

"I just remember opening the door and there was blood everywhere, he was screaming and Taylor was crying.

"We watched it on CCTV it was even worse than we thought, you see the man call the kids over and Taylor is cuddling the dog, Teddy is stroking the dog.

"Teddy turns and the dog jumps on him and wags his face, you see Taylor grab the dog and pull it off him.

"It made me feel sick, the owner didn't do anything it was all Taylor, she is like a little seven year old girl, she looks like a Barbie doll and she pulls this dog off my son.

"If she wasn't there, who knows what would happen, she saved his life.

"If it wasn't for her it would have been so much worse, she proper protected him."

And Taylor's mum Chantelle Heeney , 31, also praised her daughter's bravery.

She said: "I'm so proud of her.

"It's quite funny that she says she feels like Arnold Schwarzenegger as it is quite an unusual hero for a seven year old girl.

"Her dad loves him and she loves working out and watching the videos."

Essex Police is investigating and is yet to arrest or charge anyone in relation to the attack which unfolded last month.

A spokesman said: "We are investigating following an incident in Harwich where it was reported a boy was bitten by a dog.

"It happened in Clayton Road at around 4.30pm on 9 September.

"Our enquiries are ongoing.”
