Devastated pals have paid loving tributes to a "beautiful" woman who died after a tragic incident at a pier in Scotland.
Emergency services raced to the scene at Helensburgh Pier, in Argyll and Bute, after 5pm on Friday, April 23, to reports of a person in the water and the body of a 25-year-old woman was recovered shortly after.
Following the tragic incident, the woman has been widely named on social media as Charmaine O'Donnell, Daily Record reports.
Friends have shared their favourite memories of Chamaine as they paid tribute to her, remembering her "beautiful smile" as well as her love of rapping and Nikki Minaj.
One close friend said: "Honestly wish someone was able to wake me up and tell me it’s all just a dream, this is horrible.. my heart hurts so f****** bad.
"Never ever thought I’d ever have to say goodbye to you Mainey, my oldest and dearest pal what’s life gonna be like without your daftness.
"You were my OG, you’ll always be my OG. I’m lucky to have grown up with you Mainey, I’ll cherish every last memory I have until the day we meet again my angel, keep on rapping up there mini minaj.

Another heartbroken pal added: "Barely slept all night can’t stop thinking about my beautiful girl.

A crowdfunding page has been launched to raise money for Charmaine's family and a memorial has been planned for next week.

A post on the Just Giving page read: "Charmaine tragically lost her life, and I've made this for anyone who would like to put a wee something if you want… just because its Charmaine and she would've done the same for anyone.. absolute legend of a lassy, who'll be sadly missed by loads, loved by so many too!"
Pals have planned a memorial for Charmaine, known by friends as "Mainey", next week so mates can meet up and share stories.
Detective Superintendent Craig Willison, of Police Scotland, confirmed a 28-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the investigation.

He said: "Around 5.15pm on Friday, 23 April 2021, police were called to Helensburgh Pier on Colquhoun Street, Helensburgh, where it was reported a 25-year-old woman was in the water.
"A short time later, her body was recovered by the RNLI. Her family have been made aware and are being supported by officers."
He went on: "A 28-year-old man has been arrested in connection with this investigation and enquiries are continuing to establish the full circumstances surrounding her death.
"A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."
