The shooting occurred at the FedEx facility in the 8900 block of Mirabel Road, close to Indianapolis International airport.
Genae Cook from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department said officers had been alerted after shots were fired around 11pm local time.
According to WRTV reporter Marc Mullins, police have closed Interstate 70 near the airport in both directions
IMPD officers say they found “multiple victims”, according to 13News.
Ms Cook described it as a “mass casualty situation”.
