Joe Biden supporters have been mocking Donald Trump by hosting raucous parties outside his landmark New York tower after he lost the US Presidential election.

Jubilant crowds have been gathering in front of the luxury skyscraper to celebrate after Pennsylvania secured Biden the win for the Democratic Party today.

Biden supporters loudly chanted “no more Trump” and clapped and cheered, while cars honked as they passed the tower in the heart of Manhattan.

The celebrations follow the announcement Biden is projected to win the election and become the 46th US President, after taking the key state of Pennsylvania.

Murad Awawdeh, interim co-executive director of the New York Immigration Coalition, also posted a video showing the celebrations.

He tweeted: "Join the party outside of #TrumpTower in Columbus Circle. #PartyinTheUSA."

Photojournalist Gary Hershorn also shared footage, tweeting: “A party is breaking out in front of Trump Tower in New York City after Joe Biden declared winner of the election.”
