Joe Biden’s child-like food taste and unhealthy snacks of other presidents

Joe Biden has the food tastes "of a five-year-old", a longtime aide has revealed about the 78-year-old.

According to a US report, the President enjoys treats such as cookies and sweets.

And Donald Trump craved McDonald's while in the White House. But they are not the only Presidents to have unusual tastes in food, as Natasha Wynarczyk reveals.

John Adams: 18th Century President who reportedly woke before dawn and walked five miles a day, but one of his other habits was a lot less healthy. Every morning he drank a glass of cider.

James A. Garfield: He suffered from digestive issues during his brief time as President between March and September 1881, and doctors encouraged him to indulge in his favourite dish – squirrel soup – to help with this.

The President allowed his employees to shoot the animals on the White House grounds to get meat for the meal.

Dwight D. Eisenhower: "Prune whip" was a favourite of this President. It was made of prune purée, a dash of lemon juice, unflavoured gelatin, four egg whites and vanilla cream, blended together and served cold with cream.

Richard Nixon: In 1969, a US newspaper reported that he liked eating a wacky snack: cottage cheese covered in ketchup. Nixon felt cottage cheese was good for him, but he added ketchup for better taste.

Ronald Reagan: Was a massive fan of Jelly Belly jelly beans, after he started chomping them when he gave up smoking. The company sent three and a half tons of red, white and blue beans to his inauguration.

Bill Clinton: He and his wife Hillary regularly enjoyed a dessert that was called "Coca-Cola salad". But this was certainly no health food. The dish was made of Coke-flavoured jelly which was served with black glacé cherries.

George W Bush: One of the most requested dishes by the 43rd President was cheeseburger pizza. His White House chef Cristeta Comerford came up with the concoction, which consisted of cheeseburger ingredients such as burger patties and pickles on top of a Margherita pizza.

Donald Trump: The junk food fan was known for regularly ordering dinner from McDonald’s and even asking his chefs to recreate his favourite quarter pounder and fried apple pie dishes.
