A man jumped a fence at Centennial Airport this week in an attempt to steal a jet and fly it to Hawaii, according to the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office.
The suspect was arrested on suspicion of attempted theft and trespassing, the sheriff’s office said.
Centennial Airport said the suspect was spotted by control tower personnel at about 1:25 p.m. Wednesday. Deputies took the man into custody about ten minutes later.
The attempted theft charge, first degree aggravated motor vehicle theft over $100,000, is a felony, according to booking records. The trespass charge is a misdemeanor. He is being held at the Douglas County Jail on a $10,000 bond. His next court appearance is scheduled on Tuesday.
