Man’s horror as plumbers fix bathtub – but end up boxing in his cat

A curious cat ended up stuck behind the bath after getting boxed in by plumbers doing a repair, with a horrified TikTok user making a video about the incident.

In the clip, Andrew @epicmortgageguy explains how his poor moggy Chloe apparently went exploring during the work and was then screwed-in shut behind the tiled wall.

He says: "Just had plumbers come to the house to fix our bathtub, and they had to cut a hole in the wall.

"But when they screwed it shut, they screwed it shut with the cat inside."

Chloe, who is mostly black with white splotches, may have been difficult to see in the dark space while the wall was being screwed back into place.

Fortunately, the plumbers also broke one of the tiles which meant Andrew spotted her face peering through the gap after she went missing.

Showing the damage to the bathroom, Andrew adds: "So we had to have it opened up and they ended up having to cut a hole here to get the faucet.

"In doing that they accidentally broke that tile, and thank goodness they did."

Andrew films Chloe's reaction to being trapped before rescuing her, but adds: "For anyone wondering, the cat's fine."

The video has been watched more than 1.8 million times and cat lovers admitted the scenario was all too common, with the felines having an urge to hide in unexplored places.

One person confessed: "That happened to my cat too."

Another person said: "I was in the newspaper for saving a cat inside a wall.

"The plumber did the exact same thing but the cat was in the wall for two weeks."

Someone else said: "I’ve done this many times. The cat never says 'Wait I’m in here!'"
