Meghan isnt worried about acting royal following interview, expert claims

Meghan Markle is not worried about acting like a royal anymore as she is fitting into the role of a celebrity over in the US, a royal expert has claimed.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced they would be stepping back from senior royal duties on January 8, 2020.

Prince Harry and Meghan have been heavily invested in charity work and world issues since they left the royal family, launching their non-profit organisation the Archewell Foundation.

As well as the campaign work, the couple have appeared on a number of US TV programmes – including the explosive tell-all Oprah interview and most recently, the Duchess appeared on the Ellen show.

Brittani Barger, a royal expert, has claimed that it was the "best-case scenario" for the Royal Family that she didn't mention her time there on the show.

"That avoids the drama that would go along with those comments," Brittani told the Daily Star.

"Worst case scenario would be revealing even more information to Ellen including who made the remarks about Archie's skin colour, but I don't think she would go that far on Ellen.

"Ellen is more of a laid-back type show/interview so serious questions like that I think would not be brought up."

The expert suggests that the Duchess is "very focused on the US" and is not "worried about coverage in the UK or whether or not she is acting royal anymore".

Brittani added: "She's back home in America where there are no royals, so the need to act royal doesn't matter. Royals are seen more as celebrities here, so she's fitting right into that role."

During the Sussexes' explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey in March, the couple claimed a member of the royal family made a comment on Archie's skin colour before he was born.

Following the tell-all chat, Buckingham Palace issued a statement detailing how issues raised were to be dealt with 'as a family'.

Prince William also told reporters during a press event a few days later that the royal family were 'not racist'.

The Daily Star has approached the Duchess of Sussex for comment.
