The son of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's pal has tragically been found dead in his Los Angeles home.

Nine-year-old George Zajfen was the son of former model Kelly McKee Zajfen, 42. At this moment in time the cause of his death remains a mystery.

Kelly announced her son's passing in an Instagram post on Friday (July 22).

George's twin sister Lily has a cardiac condition and wears a pacemaker. Kelly said she will try to keep going for her sake.

Speaking to the Daily Mail an unnamed family friend said: "George had no heart problems that they were aware of. Nobody knows what happened right now.

"They're still waiting on the autopsy results. I don't even think she [Kelly] knows right now. He was just found unresponsive.

"It's hard to believe that it's him when of course it's his sister who has had a heart condition since she was two years old. Right now, it's very much a mystery for everybody."

A GoFundMe (here) has been set up by family friend Kate Jefferson in honour of George.

It has already raised over $58,000 (£48,100) and the family are now urging for donations to go to Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.

According to the Daily Mail, Meghan and Harry have donated $5,000 (£4,150) in the names of their children Archie and Lilibet.

Meghan's ex-husband Trevor Engelson, 45, donated $1,000 (£830).

Kate writes on the GoFundMe page: "The generosity and kindness you have all demonstrated in response to this page has been overwhelming and beautiful.

"Please know that the Zajfen family did not ask for this page to be started. Instead, they have been asking people who wish to make donations in honor of George to do so to Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.
