Before marrying Harry and starting her new royal life, Meghan had a starring role as Rachel Zane, leaving in 2018 ahead of her wedding to the now king's son.

Bower said Meghan's attitude towards her co-stars reportedly shifted and "stiffened".

Writing in his book, Revenge: Meghan, Harry and the War between the Windsors, he claimed: "Some actors and staff discovered that Meghan’s attitude occasionally stiffened.

"Sometimes she arrived late and her empathy occasionally morphed into near-arrogance," adding: “Meghan had markedly shifted from the early days when she held a prayer meeting with the Suits cast before filming started."

However, Meghan's former Suits co-stars have in the past defended her against bullying allegations made by Palace staff.

Following the allegations, Meghan's former on-screen love interest Patrick J. Adams took to Twitter, writing: "From day one she was an enthusiastic, kind, co-operative, giving, joyful and supportive member of our television family.

"She remained that person and colleague as fame, prestige and power accrued."

Meghan's former co-star and friend Abigail Spencer wrote: "There are some people who are so bright and exude such deep purpose that they change the molecules in the air simply through their being.

"She was all of this from the moment I met her 14 years ago," adding: "And remains so to this day."

Bower claimed that Palace staff imposed strict rules on the Suits cast and crew, and ordered scripts to be sent to Meghan's agent and then forwarded to Kensington Palace for approval.

He added: "The most important demand concerned Meghan’s last scene at her ‘wedding’ to Mike.

"No photographs, the Palace ordered, were to be shot of Meghan wearing a wedding dress.”
