Meghan Markle wears Santa hat and lipsyncs to Christmas song in unearthed clip

Meghan Markle was spotted wearing a Santa hat and lip-syncing in a music video for a Christmas single.

The 2012 clip has recently resurfaced, showing the Duchess of Sussex make her celebrity cameo in Grammy award-winning singer Richard Marx's song "Christmas Spirit".

Meghan, who then started her role in US drama Suits, is seen sitting at a Christmas table miming the lyrics to the tune with a red and white Santa hat on.

She is also smiling and nodding in step with the song while joining her co-stars Rick Hoffman and Sarah Rafferty in the montage-style clip.

One viewer commented on the YouTube music video: "I suppose at the time she was starting out and any publicity would have been good."

Another wrote: "Is that Meghan Markle sitting at a table with a Santa hat and Merry Christmas red cloth?"

The video was filmed four years before she met Prince Harry.

Richard, now 57, is said to have invited friend Rick Hoffman, who played Louis Litt in Suits and convinced him to star in the music video.

According to The Sun, the Suits actor brought Meghan and fellow co-star Sarah Rafferty along for the shoot.

The festive song was a minor hit in the US and the video has just 123,608 views on YouTube despite being uploaded in 2012.

One viewer was quoted saying: "It’s amazing. Meghan wouldn’t have been noticeable at the time and now she’s one of the most famous women in the world.

"It’s a very cheesy video but good fun. You wouldn’t imagine the woman there with the Santa hat on would go on and become so successful and famous."
