Meghan Markle's friend Janina Gavankar has spoken about the Duchess's latest interview with Oprah Winfrey and said the family "were aware of" Meghan's mental health issue.
Janina, who has been friends with Meghan for 17 years, appeared on ITV's This Morning where she claimed the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have emails and text messages to support their claims in the interview.
Meghan mentioned in the CBS interview that she received no help after speaking about her mental suffering.
Buckingham Palace yesterday responded to the claims and issued a statement to stress that the "whole family is saddened" to learn the full extent of how challenging the last few years have been for Prince Harry and Meghan.
It also mentioned that the issues regarding to their son Archie's race are concerning.
Janina was asked by host Philip Schofield whether there are "more truths to come". She replied: "Yes… I really do feel like we’re in a new era."
She also responded to the Palace's statement, saying: "One side I thought I'm so thankful that they are finally acknowledging the experience.
"But on the other side, I know the family and staff were well aware of the extent of it and, though their recollections may vary, ours don’t because we lived through it with them.
"And there are many emails and texts to support that."
Phillip then asked if Janina was referencing that the Royal Family and the staff from within Buckingham Palace were aware of Meghan's mental health issue.

"I don't know who knew, but I know that family and the staff knew," she confirmed.
Janina then revealed that she watched the interview with Meghan and confirmed that the Duchess of Sussex knew about her coming on This Morning.
Phillip asked: "So she is happy for you to talk about this today?"
And Janina replies: "We are all happy that we are in a new era. We get to tell the truth. Things are different now.
"But I will say I don't speak for them, I speak for myself."
Daily Star has contacted Buckingham Palace for comment.
