The former First Lady of the United States enhanced her already glowing reputation as she opened up in her ‘The Michelle Obama Podcast’ series, which explored a variety of themes including relationships and parenthood. Throughout the series the 56-year-old welcomed a variety of guests, including her husband and ex-US President Barack Obama, as well as her mother Marian Robinson, who all offered an insight into their lives. It was widely praised as a calming antidote to the current world, which is being ravaged by coronavirus – and in the grips of a US election.
The series ended last month, and although it remains unclear when – if ever – a second series will be made, Michelle vowed that each episode created so far “felt like a true reflection” of the chats she would have with the important people she knew.
Writing on Twitter after its conclusion, Michelle said: “Today, I’m feeling extra grateful for the conversations I shared with loved ones during the first season of The Michelle Obama Podcast.
“And while the pandemic certainly affected the tone and content of these conversations, I will say each episode really felt like a true reflection of the kind of discussions I’ve always had with the special people in my life.”
She added: “I hope that our conversations – whether about being married, being a parent, being a citizen, or just being – inspired you to reach out to the people in your life and share how you feel.
“Because when enough people open up and have vulnerable conversations, amazing things can happen.
“That’s how we begin to break down these barriers that too often get in our way – by opening up and listening to one another.”
The former lawyer also praised listeners, explaining that she “truly loved reading your comments and hearing from all of you”.
Fans responded in their thousands to Michelle’s comment, many wishing to know when new episodes would be coming out.

One added: “Each episode was authentic and you could learn something from each episode.
“Listening to your podcast helped me feel some sort of hope and calmness that I have not felt in quite a few years now, so thank you.”
Michelle became one of the world’s most recognisable and influential women, as she supported Barack during his eight-year stay in the White House.
But one of the biggest admissions from her podcast regarded her children – Malia and Sasha – and the sacrifices she and Barack made for them.

While Barack was President, he and Michelle both ensured that his role would not get in the way of their upbringing, which meant the pair had to make alterations to their schedules – even if Barack was leading one of the world’s most powerful nations.
Discussing the sacrifices with her mother Marian and brother Craig Robinson on the broadcast episode, Michelle explained: “Even as Barack being the President of the United States, he worked his schedule around their schedule.
“They weren’t waiting until 9pm to eat because dad was running late.
“They never couldn’t not go somewhere or do something because of dad. I never wanted them to resent the presidency, or resent what their dad did.”
