Mum turns detective to hunt down pervert who sexually assaulted daughter

A quick-thinking mum found herself hunting down a pervert who sexually assaulted her daughter before confronting him and taking the sicko's picture.

Mahmood Noor Ibrahim, 39, had approached the 16-year-old just minutes after she left work, with amateur detective work from the mum and daughter duo paying off after they found him.

The 39-year-old living in Hull admitted to sexual assault in November last year and found himself behind bars for one year, which he appealed at Hull Crown Court, MEN reported.

A judge said Noor posed a high risk of serious harm to the public, including females, but the 39-year-old was granted a two-month cut on his sentence as magistrates did not give him enough discount for his early guilty plea.

Ibrahim had approached a 16-year-old girl who had just finished work, grabbing her and sexually assaulting her in an encounter that left her feeling "scared and unsafe".

Prosecutor Rachel Scott said: "They drove along the road looking for the male. They found the male on Paragon Street, which is very close to where the incident had taken place. He had a pint of alcohol in his right hand."

Confronting the pervert in the street, the 16-year-old's mother is said to have asked: "Have you just grabbed my daughter? You're not going to get away with this."

Noor was arrested the following day and admitted to kissing the girl but did not comment on whether it was consensual, claiming he thought the girl was between 20 and 25 years old.

Marc Luxford, representing Ibrahim, said the 39-year-old was "sorry for the offence" and his "disgusting behaviour".

Recorder David Gordon said it was "concerning" that assessments of Ibrahim showed a future offence could happen "at any time", and added the "extremely upsetting" offence left the 16-year-old "scared and unsafe".

He added: "This offence has had a serious detrimental effect on the complainant. You are assessed as posing a high risk of serious harm to the public, particularly females. You are an asylum seeker in this country.

"The victim was particularly vulnerable, a lone female, 16, on her own in Hull city centre late at night. You specifically targeted a vulnerable victim."

Ibrahim has been given a 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order and will have to sign the Sex Offenders' Register for 10 years.
