The Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office filed a first-degree murder charge against a 36-year-old man accused of fatally stabbing a man in Westminster.
Wesley Van Lougee is charged with killing 52-year-old Noal Nussbaum on May 1, according to a Friday news release from District Attorney Pete Weir’s office.
Lougee also has been charged with two crimes of violence, the news release said. Lougee was advised of his charges Friday.
Westminster police were called to a home at 10391 107th Circle at 7:40 p.m. May 1 on a report of a stabbing.
Police discovered Nussbaum on the floor between the garage and the house. He had a stab wound in the chest, the news release said. Nussbaum was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
Nussbaum lived at the home with the homeowner, her son and two developmentally disabled adults. Lougee was a friend of the homeowner’s son. Nussbaum and Lougee knew each other, the news release said.
