Mystery around £150k pink sports car that hasnt moved from hotel for two years

The mystery of an expensive pink sportscar that has not yet moved from its same spot has baffled locals for near on two years.

The bright pink McLaren 570s has been parked outside of the St Pancras Renaissance Hotel, London, for almost two years and can now be seen on Google Maps, MyLondon reports.

The vehicle has caused such a hubbub that a TikTok video questioning why the car has consistently stayed in the same position was created.

The video was posted by a user named SoggySpin4ch who asked: "When will this pink car move? This car has been here the whole pandemic."

The video has since racked up over 1.3million views and nearly 100 comments with many TikTok users commentating their experiences of witnessing the car as well as posting their theories on its stagnant position.

One commenter said: "Omg yea! It hasn’t moved and I’ve been walking past here a few times over the last couple of years."

Another added: "Wait… I walked past this like seven months ago… IT’S STILL THERE?" One other user said: "I literally live in Oxford and whenever I come to London I see this car."

One theory that proved popular with some is that the car has in fact been moved but just always returns to its same parking spot.

One commenter actually claimed to work in the Renaissance hotel and said: "I actually work at the St Pancras Renaissance Hotel, the McLaren is owned by one guest who permanently moved into the hotel near the start of the pandemic because he was having trouble getting back to his country.

This theory began to gain more traction as another commenter agreed with the alleged employee of the hotel as they said: "It's been there since before 2018 at least, the owner lives in the hotel. They allow him to park it there since it looks good.

A commenter who said they live near King's Cross also concurred as they claimed: "No no no, this car has moved and actually been out for a few days, then back again. He or she will be a resident upstairs."
