Winds are expected to sweep snow through areas of northeastern Colorado on Saturday, especially on the Eastern Plains in a line northeast of Fort Collins to Limon.
In Denver, there’s a 20% chance of snow before noon, skies will be partly sunny and the high temperature will be near 40 degrees, according to the National Weather Service forecast. It will be breezy, with winds gusting up to about 31 mph.
Pockets of snow will move across the plains on Saturday and some areas, mainly around Fort Morgan and Akron, could see heavy snow, the weather service said. Snow accumulation of 3 to 6 inches is expected northeast of a line from Fort Collins to Limon, further west only a few light snow showers are expected. West winds will gust between 40 to 60 mph Saturday on the eastern slopes of the Front Range, diminishing this evening.
Tonight in Denver skies will be partly cloudy, with winds gusting to about 31 mph and the low temperature near 17 degrees, according to the weather service.
Sunday in Denver there’s a 30% chance of afternoon snow, mainly after 3 p.m., the weather service said. Skies will be partly sunny and the high temp will top out near 43 degrees. Sunday night, snow is likely in Denver before midnight, with a 60% chance for precipitation and 1 to 2 inches of accumulation. It will be mostly cloudy and the low temp will be about 22 degrees.
Snow is in the Denver forecast Monday with a 30% chance, skies will be partly sunny and the high will top out near 41 degrees, the weather service said. Winds will gust to near 26 mph.
Dry weather with a warming trend is expected Tuesday and Wednesday in the city, with some mountain
snow likely by Thursday and a chance of rain or snow on the plains, the weather service said.
