Prince Harry has found happiness with the "freedom and independence to thrive" in California, a royal expert has said.
The Sussexes left the UK for a new start in the US having had a fractious relationship with other royals and since then Harry has spoken about how he disliked life in the public glare.
He followed up his and Meghan Markle’s bombshell Oprah interview with the latest chat with Dax Shepard on the Armchair Expert podcast, where he said he can now go out freely on his bike with his son in California.
Royal insider Omid Scobie told a podcast that listening to Harry it does seem as though he is happy now with many wondering even with the move to the US whether he and Meghan would be able to find it.
"Prince Harry has lived so much of his life behind Palace walls and is now out in the US he is doing things differently, they’ve set up the foundation… it is going from strength to strength, there is a happiness in his voice," Omar told The Heirpod.
"It is a nice feeling to see it, I don’t know the guy but I am happy for him. I think ultimately when we followed that experience that they had stepping from their royal rolls people did question would they find their happiness, that freedom or the independence or the space to thrive in.

"Harry said it best himself to Dax that both he and Meghan are able to walk around California with their shoulders down a little bit, that they don’t have the same weight and pressure on them that they once had."
His view was also shared on the podcast by Maggie Rulli who said that people should not forget how unusual it is for a royal to come out and speak so frankly.

Harry told Dax how he felt that life in the Royal Family was like being in The Truman Show with everyone looking in and he knew from his early 20s that it was not what he wanted.
"You do notice this ease, I think it is somewhat shocking honestly and it is almost easy to forget, as you just mentioned, this isn’t something that the Royal Family normally does," she said.
"On the one hand, I think we are almost getting used to how open they are that we are forgetting how rare it really is."
