An alcohol-fuelled row between two teachers ended in a fatal stabbing, according to a Russian police report.

Alexandra Osipova, 22, was sharing a room with Alla Filatova, 20, at a summer camp for children where they were both teachers.

Osipova called an ambulance herself but Alla bled to death at the scene before help could arrive.

She was arrested shortly afterwards at the Dobroye children’s residential holiday camp some 11 miles northeast of Moscow.

A law enforcement source told Moskovsky Komsomolets that according to preliminary investigations: "They had an argument about which of them was the better teacher.

Osipova told her mother that she killed her friend.

"She said that she did not even remember the reasons for the quarrel, because she was drunk," according to a source at the camp.

The women were employed as teachers for the school holiday period at Dobroye children’s holiday camp.

Reports say that the children at the camp who had been in bed did not witness the fatal stabbing, which happened in the early hours of the morning.

The teachers had both studied at the same university and knew each other before the deadly clash.

Alla studied physics and mathematics at Moscow State Regional University.

Osipova is currently being questioned by the Russian Investigative Committee which probes serious crimes.
