A teenager has died after a tragic incident at a fairground in Kent where he was allegedly "crushed" by one of the rides, according to reports.

It happened at the fun fair in Dover at 7.45am this morning (August 3).

Emergency crews attended the "serious incident" where it was thought that he had been "crushed", the Sun reports.

The South East Coast Ambulance Service did confirm that the 19-year-old was found dead at the scene.

A spokesman said: "We were called at 7.42am this morning (August 3, 2022) to a serious incident at Pencester Gardens in Dover.

"We immediately dispatched a number of clinical resources to the scene, including our HART team and Critical Care Paramedics, however, sadly, a teenage boy was pronounced as deceased at the scene.”

Kent Police confirmed that they also attended the scene but no "suspicious circumstances" were reported.

A Kent Police spokesman said: "Kent Police was called by South East Coast Ambulance Service to Pencester Gardens, Dover at 7.45am on Wednesday 3 August 2022.

"No suspicious circumstances have been reported, and the Health and Safety Executive have been informed."

The park was due to open today, but was closed at the time of the incident, The Sun reports.

The area was cordoned off by police who are still investigating exactly what happened, but the area at the park was largely tarped off by emergency services.

According to Kent Live, the one way street on Pencester Road has been closed from the A256 Maison Dieu Road to Biggin Street while emergency services remain in the area.

It has not yet been confirmed when or if normal traffic conditions are expected to resume in the area.

One witness told Kent Online: "I just arrived and there were fire engines, medics and police."

The fair is being run by Forrest Amusements, and the Daily Star has reached out to them for a comment.
