The Lowline fire in Gunnison County has burned 400 acres prompting evacuation and pre-evacuation notices.
An evacuation notice is posted for residents in the Mill Creek Drainage west of the intersection of County Road 730 and 727, according to the Gunnison Regional 911 Center. Pre-evacuation notice is posted for residents along County Road 818 to the intersection with County Road 730 (Ohio Creek). Evacuate large animals can be sheltered at the Gunnison County Fairgrounds.
Smoke is visible throughout Gunnison County and multiple fire units are working on the fire which is burning about 14 miles northeast of Gunnison and 11 miles southwest of Crested Butte. No structures are threatened, the fire is 0% contained.
