Two defendants have been charged with murder for the December shooting death of a man in Thornton.
Jonathan Garcia, 19, and Matthew McMahon, 18, are being held on suspicion of first-degree murder for the death of Fernando Perez, according to police.
On Dec. 3 Perez agreed to meet the pair regarding a clothing sale, police said in a news release. Perez was shot in the area of 101st Avenue and Clayton Street during a robbery.
The suspects also face a second-degree murder charge, aggravated robbery and conspiracy to commit aggravate robbery, according to the district attorney’s office. Garcia’s next court appearance is scheduled on April 8 and McMahon’s next appearance on Feb. 23.
