Photos have been shared of primary school-aged children bundled into the back of a police van after taking part in the protests opposing the invasion of Ukraine. In the photos shared by opposition politician Olya Yashin, the three children, who were reportedly going to lay flowers at the Ukrainian embassy, can be seen holding ‘No war’ banners dotted with Ukrainian flags and hearts. Despite the Kremlin’s zero-tolerance policy for dissent, Russians have turned up in their thousands to voice their opposition, risking jail and treason charges. More than 7,000 people have been arrested in 50 cities in Russia, according to OVD information.
