Prince William and Princess Kate would likely face "total humiliation" should they spend Christmas with the Sussex duo, according to a friend of King Charles.

An official guest list has snubbed the Duke and Duchess of Sussex a mere day after their request to attend the event was allegedly aired. But an invite is unlikely, with an insider claiming King Charles III had the final say.

But had the Sussex duo appeared at the event, it is likely the Prince and Princess of Wales would have faced a round of humiliation given the comments made about the pair in Prince Harry's biography, Spare.
A friend of King Charles, speaking to the Daily Beast, said: "Charles and his team were never going to be bounced into inviting Harry and Meghan. When an invite does come, it will be carefully thought-through and it will be on his terms."
Christmas plans for the Royal Family are drafted quite a considerable time before the celebrations, so the Duke and Duchess of Sussex may have missed out on an invite through poor timing.
Whether the duo even made the initial list is yet to be confirmed as new bombshell claims are alleged in an upcoming book from Omid Scobie.
The book, Endgame, claims Meghan Markle has allegedly told several confidants she never wishes to step foot on UK soil again, hence her absence from the Coronation of King Charles III earlier this year.
A Christmas snub recorded in the book has seen few words spoken between the Sussex duo and the Wales representatives. The Daily Star previously reported the duo would exchange nothing more than a present with one another on Christmas.
No texts or words of goodwill were to follow, and the frosty dynamic between the duo is seemingly set to continue.
