Viva Aerobus announced a new nonstop service between Denver International Airport and Mexico\u2019s Monterrey International Airport beginning Jan. 25, 2024, in a news release. The Mexican budget airline will become the only carrier to offer a nonstop service between the two airports.<\/p>\n
The airline will fly the route twice per week, on Thursdays and Sundays, per the release. The first flight of the day will leave Monterrey at 10:05 a.m. and arrive in Denver at 12:05 p.m. The returning flight will leave Denver at 1:35 p.m. and arrive in Monterrey at 5:15 p.m. All times are in MST.<\/p>\n
“We are excited to start flying to new cities in the U.S. as part of our major expansion strategy in this country, encouraging passengers to take advantage of our increased connectivity, low fares and modern fleet,\u201d Juan Carlos Zuazua, CEO of Viva Aerobus, said in the release.<\/p>\n
The route will become the eighth nonstop destination in Mexico served by DIA, the most the airport serves in any one country outside the U.S.\u00a0Monterrey had ranked as the airport’s largest unserved Mexican market, prior to the announcement, with nearly 15,000 annual travelers between the two cities, according to the release.<\/p>\n
\u201cNew flights to Monterrey will strengthen Denver\u2019s already deep ties to Mexico,\u201d Denver Mayor Mike Johnston said in the release. \u201cNonstop service will further enhance connections and collaboration to our neighboring country, including commerce, culture and tourism.\u201d<\/p>\n
