Three days after Hamas took the world by surprise with its terror attack on Israel, Tel Aviv is believed to have re-established control over the border with the Gaza Strip.<\/p>\n
On Tuesday, Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said the Israeli area surrounding Gaza had been secured and mines were being planted in areas where the fence had been destroyed.<\/p>\n

FOLLOW THIS LIVE BLOG FOR UPDATES ON THE CONFLICT<\/strong><\/p>\n Air raid sirens sounded this morning in several towns and cities in southern Israel.<\/p>\n Hamas started launching a series of rocket strikes from the Gaza Strip on Saturday morning.<\/p>\n While some targeted southern Israel, others reached the country’s capital, Tel Aviv, damaging several buildings as a result.<\/p>\n London’s Houses of Parliament lit up in blue and white on Monday evening in a powerful show of support for Israel.\u00a0<\/p>\n The United Nations agency focused on supporting Palestinian refugees, UNRWA, said more than 187,000 people have been displaced across the Gaza Strip following the retaliatory Israeli air strikes.<\/p>\n Among them, 137,500 are sheltering in 83 UN schools, the agency said.<\/p>\n The field office of the UNRWA itself suffered “collateral damage” due to the strikes, the agency said.<\/p>\n Chaotic scenes unravelled in central London on Monday night as hundreds of pro-Palestine protesters gathered outside the Israeli embassy in Kensington.<\/p>\n The protesters chanted “Israel is a terrorist state,” “Free Palestine,” and “Allahu Akhbar” as they pledged their support for Palestinians.<\/p>\n Footage from the area shows police officers out in large numbers observing demonstrators waving placards demanding an end to Israel’s occupation.<\/p>\n Good morning from London.
