The Israeli military has revealed that it has killed three hostages being held by terrorist group Hamas “by mistake” after “accidentally” identifying them as a threat.<\/p>\n
The Israeli Defence Force (IDF) revealed that during fighting in Shejaiya soldiers “mistakenly identified three Israeli hostages as a threat”.<\/p>\n
An IDF spokesperson added: “As a result, the troops fired toward them and they were killed. During searches and checks in the area in which the incident occurred, a suspicion arose over the identities of the deceased.<\/p>\n
“Their bodies were transferred to Israeli territory for examination, after which it was confirmed that they were three Israeli hostages.”<\/p>\n
READ MORE: <\/strong> Hamas’ sick terror plan to murder Europeans is foiled as seven arrested<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Two of the three hostages killed in the incident have been named as Yotam Haim, who was kidnapped from Kibbutz Kfar Azaand, and Samer Talalka, who was kidnapped from Kibbutz Nir Am.<\/p>\n Both were taken hostage during Hamas’ attack on October 7.<\/p>\n The family of the third hostage has been informed of the incident but asked for his name not to be released.<\/p>\n Don’t miss… <\/strong> The IDF statement continued: “The IDF expresses deep remorse over the tragic incident and sends the families its heartfelt condolences.<\/p>\n “Our national mission is to locate the missing and return all the hostages home.<\/p>\n “Immediate lessons from the event have been learned, which have been passed on to all IDF troops in the field.”<\/p>\n
