Shadow Foreign Secretary David Lammy risked causing a major row after speaking at a Labour Friends of Palestine event on Tuesday’s fringes of the Labour Party conference.
There had been much speculation about whether Mr Lammy would attend the event, which had originally planned to feature the Palestinian ambassador who did not attend.
It comes after another pro-Palenstine group was seen protesting outside the Labour Party conference, as reported by this website on Monday, with one supporter carrying a placard emblazoned with the words “Israel is a racist state”.
The demonstration resulted in a furious clash between the group and counterprotesters with cries of “shame on you” directed towards both sides.
Taking to X to share a video of Mr Lammy’s appearance Reclaim leader Laurence Fox said: “Ladies and gentlemen, I give you Britain’s next foreign minister. Wow.”
Also weighing in GB News host and commentator Darren Grimes, said: “David Lammy addressing a Labour Friends of Palestine event tonight. Same old Labour?”
